Three pieces chosen by how the cloth feels across a full day, not how it looks. In one layer, the fabric is the comfort.
The day here is long and it is worn in one layer. Whatever goes on at eight is still against your skin at six, through the walk to the station and through a meeting room held at 19°C. There is no coat to change the experience halfway. So the choice of cloth is not a finishing touch. It is the whole of comfort.
That changes what gentle means. We don't pick a piece because it looks gentle. We pick it for how the cloth behaves on skin for ten hours, and it tends to look that way as a result. Three pieces below, each chosen by hand-feel before anything else.
A pink fine-rib knit with a wide fold that drapes across the collarbone and sits off the shoulders, over a white lettuce hem in contrast. Everything the piece does, it does with that fold and that cloth. It is worn here over a lace inner top, which is not included.
The fold is what moves. Pull it up and it sits on both shoulders as a wide neckline; let it go and it settles at the top of the arm. At desk distance that is the whole event, and it happens without a pin or a tie. It is a fine rib with high stretch, so it recovers each time it is moved rather than holding a crease. Regular (standard fit), one size. Flat chest 35cm, waist 31.5cm, length 41.5cm, which lands the hem at the waistband of the trousers you already own. Delicate describes how it looks. Fragile would describe how it behaves, and a high-stretch rib does not behave that way.
A frill is texture when it sits in one place and does one thing. On the Alice Frill Top it runs as a single wide band across an off-shoulder neckline, so the edge lies along the collarbone and the top of the arm, and the rest of the top is plain. The knit is fine enough to read slightly sheer in daylight, and it has high stretch, which is what keeps a long sleeve wearable outside: 58cm of sleeve in a knit that thin.
Against a plain bottom the band is the only line in the outfit that isn't straight. It puts one curved edge at the shoulder and leaves everything below it alone. Flat shoulder 37cm, chest 31cm, armhole 17.5cm, length 41cm, with a lettuce-edge hem. Regular (standard fit), one size, in pink. Worn over jeans it is the one decision in the outfit. The jeans are not a decision.

This is the piece we reach for without deciding to. It lives on the back of a chair or folded in a bag, and it goes on when the vent above the desk starts and comes off at the door. What makes that possible is the knit. It is a fine sheer gauge, made for air-conditioning rather than for cold, so it never has to be planned around. V-neck, button-through front, long sleeves, lettuce-edge hem. Ivory or Pink.
Fitted (tighter fit) with high stretch, one size. Flat chest 33.5cm, shoulder 30cm, waist 31cm, length 39cm. The 30cm shoulder is the number to look at. It is a close shoulder, so the cardigan follows the body instead of sitting on top of it, and that is what lets it go on and off several times a day without anyone noticing, including you. Nothing to carry when it is off. Nothing to feel when it is on.
Softness as a costume. Frills at the neck over a ruffled skirt reads as an outfit assembled to look gentle, and by lunch it feels like one too. One textured piece against plain ones is the move. The texture gets to be felt, and the rest of the outfit stays out of its way.
